Short Bio
I am an engineering manager in Facebook. I worked at Yahoo! Labs before I came to Facebook. For my education background, I obtained my Ph.D. from Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I worked in Text Information Management Group and Data and Information System Group. My Ph.D. advisor is Professor ChengXiang Zhai. I was supported by a Yahoo! Ph.D. Fellowship in 2008-2009. I got my Bachelor degree from University of Science and Technology of China.
Research Interests
I have broad interests in information retrieval, data mining, and machine learning. I was working on recommender system and Web search ranking problems in Yahoo! Labs. My Ph.D. research was on improving Web search for difficult queries. I also worked on mining knowledge from large scale search logs and mining bursty patterns from temporal text streams.
